ITASCA Winery and Restaurant

ITASCA wines have been developing a winery business using grapes from both their own local vineyard in Crondall, Hampshire, as well as those from many other growers across the UK and Europe. They approached Holder Mathias and asked us to prepare concept designs for a new restaurant building that would be associated with the winery as part of its planned expansion.  The proposal includes a restaurant, private function space, a wine gallery and areas for wine tasting experiences, a shop, controlled wine storage, and, most importantly, an elevated view across the vineyard. The design is influenced by its agricultural context and set into the immediate landscape setting with connections back to the winery complex via meandering footpaths and linear guiding steps.
